Bevel Geared Motors

A bevel gear — also called bevel gearing — has a mushroom-shaped gear set that lets the drive change direction — allowing a horizontal drive shaft to connect and transmit power to a vertical shaft. It is the choice when the motor and the driven shaft sit at an angle to each other. AVM supplies Bauer bevel geared motors in Singapore and South East Asia for manufacturing, robotics, industrial automation, mining and milling where space or layout calls for a direction change. Send us the layout, speed and load and we will specify the unit.

Bevel geared motors are one type within our full gear motors range. For very slow speed instead of a direction change, see our worm geared motors.

Frequently asked questions

What is a bevel gear for? Changing the direction of the drive shaft — for example from horizontal to vertical — between the motor and the output shaft.

Bevel or worm? Bevel changes direction at high efficiency; worm is for very slow speed. They solve different problems.
